“Just for today I will experience all in complete acceptance, joy, gratitude and freedom from fear”

Every morning, during my prayer/meditation session, I repeat the 5 Reiki principles :

Just for today…

-I will not worry

-I will not get angry

-I will count my many blessings

-I will love and respect every living creature (including myself)

-I will do an honest days work (on myself)

*scroll down to the end of the post for links to further information and articles re: the above

Over the past year I have been guided during a loving channeling session, to add an additional affirmation to these:

“Just for today I will experience all in complete acceptance, joy, and freedom from fear”

It’s meaning is obvious, but powerful!

Acceptance:  knowing everything is happening for my Higher Good in the best possible way

Joy – happy that it has been sent to me , again, for my Higher Good at this time

Freedom from Fear – without fear of what it is or what it’s consequences for the future mean…in complete Faith that it is part of Divine plan and overview.

[just now, as I write, I have been instructed to add “in gratitude” to this statement. For obvious reasons as well.  I am thankful for your love and care in sending this thing to me. So the full statement , as of today, is:

“Just for today I will experience all in complete acceptance, joy, gratitude and freedom from fear”

I’ve always said this in the morning along with the 5 principles, but have recently been guided to repeat them at night as well and couldn’t understand why until just the other day.

Saying it all at the beginning of the day puts us in a place of mindfulness about everything we do during the day.  So why at night?.

Well, something happened to me a few days ago which had me doubting, worrying, fearing and feeling confused – something which hasn’t happened to me in a long time.  I could not stop wondering and contemplating and concerning myself with the reasons for this particular occurrence the entire day. I was literally driving myself crazy all day thinking about the why’s and how’s.  And then night time rolled around, and it was then that I was literally “forced” to repeat the statements before going to sleep.  And as I did, I realized that the whole day I had NOT been aware of what I was doing…falling back into “worry mode” – into concerning myself with things which I should leave to God and the Universe – into forgetting my Faith and allowing my fears to take over.  And once I realized this – I fell into a peaceful and blissful sleep and awoke KNOWING for sure that all was well and would work out exactly as suited my Higher Good – but only if I could release my own ego’s attempt to control things and “figure them out”.

-How can I do this now?

-This is not what I planned or had in mind

-Maybe I will be too tired now while doing panchakarma to take on this work

-what if I don’t do it properly because I am not prepared?

-How will I find the time

-etc., etc., etc.

These are all actually none of my concern!  If something is sent to me, it is a “done deal” (if I allow it to be), everything having been worked out completely from beginning to end in ways that I could never imagine.  My human thinking being too limited to imagine the “how’s”.

Once I removed my ego from the issue, all things just began to flow easily, allowing me to just “sit back and relax”, while the events played themselves out in their own proper time and their own proper way.

If I had not repeated the statements before going to sleep that night, I would not have caught myself and the trap I had fallen into during the day, and would have had a sleepless night for sure-perhaps even continuing to plague me the following day.

I now repeat at night as well, to take a good look at the day and my actions and reactions to events.  And in the event that I have lost my balance in any way, I can come back to center, release all that is unnecessary, and sleep calming through the night.

Back to Reality and Dealing with Negative Feelings

Anger, frustration, fear, worry – they do come – we are only human. The question is what to do with these feelings when they arise. This is a question I was confronted with just a couple of days ago, just one month after coming home from India. After many months of being relatively free of negative feelings, I found myself swamped in them after spending several frustrating hours dealing with insurance companies regarding a claim following someone running into my car from behind while my daughter was driving. This happened a couple of months ago while I was in India, and until now the money has not been paid to me to cover the repairs. I found myself in an extremely difficult place – with feelings that I hadn’t experienced for a long time – and was at a loss about what to do regarding my reaction to the situation. Remember, we are always responsible for the way we feel and so these feelings of anger, frustration, fear and worry were not what was upsetting me, but the fact that I allowed myself to react in a way which allowed these feelings to arise in the first place.

So again…what to do? Well, it took me awhile, but I realized that first of all, the feelings must be validated, allowed to BE, and not buried. Allow them their own freedom to exist – find out where they are coming from and then move past them back to the balanced place. If doing this involves a day or two of sleeping a lot, or playing computer games, of not meditating and doing yoga, don’t beat myself up about it. Allow myself the luxury of succumbing once in awhile. The downs only make the highs easier relish, appreciate and be grateful for!

The relapses into bad times have a place in our lives and as such, are just as much a blessing as the so-called “good” stuff. In the end, EVERYTHING is good, and FOR our own Higher Good. So once again I give thanks to God and the loving Universe for my many blessings, even when it takes me awhile to become aware of them.

Living in India 2009– How a Dream Becomes a Reality

So many people have asked me how I have managed to arrange my life so that I can spend 6 months a year in India, that I’ve decided to write about it as there hopefully are lessons for others to learn from this as well.

I have done some thinking about the whole concept of turning dreams into reality. It is a fairly simple concept actually, but seeing it truly work is the amazing part. When we have a focused intention and can visualize it, and then release it completely to God and the Universe, our new reality begins to be created for us. The catch here is that we must TOTALLY release it, in complete Faith, knowing that it will be taken care of. The “how’s” are well beyond our human capabilities to imagine.

If we continue to “second-guess” the wisdom of the Universe, or mix fear into the equation, we sabotage the final outcome.

Asking each day for the best possible outcome to our prayers, our dreams, for our Higher Good and the Higher Good of all who come in contact with us, on all levels – asking for openness to accept and embrace ALL that comes our way in COMPLETE FREEDOM FROM FEAR – asking for the wisdom to “hear” all the messages we receive – is all we need to do to insure the successful manifestation of our dreams into reality.

In 2001, at the age of 54, when I quit my high paying job in hi-tech (more…)

This post is long overdue, but everything happens exactly as it is meant to and in the most suitable time frame, so a little background as to the reasons for the delay, and how those reasons themselves add further clarity, strength and understanding to the whole concept of worry as we generally understand it.

Following a very difficult period, not only because of my Father’s passing (see my new blog for further details, updated postings etc.) In Memoriam, but also due to the new harsh reality of my Mother’s financial situation and the need to find new living arrangements for her, the whole concept of “Just for Today I will not worry” was put to the supreme test.

There were some shaky moments to be sure, very shaky actually, but the constant use of Reiki, meditation and prayer have proven themselves once again. It took some time, more than my problematic impatience could stand at moments, but things are slowly working their way out in ways of course that I could never imagine.

Which is all part of it! Let GO and let GOD! Don’t worry about the “how’s”. Don’t set limits as to how the solution will present itself. Just know that …”when we release our needs and prayers to the universe without strings attached, the heavens take care of coordinating the outcome.”…”Look upon everything from the end of (your) prayer onward as having a part to play in the answer to your prayer…” (Caroline Myss, Invisible Acts of Power).

Hopefully the following will give you a deeper understanding of the principle…”just for today I will not worry”…and I am sure my own personal involvement over the past few months precisely with this principle, was not by chance. Nothing Is. It was all meant to give more depth and concrete understanding to me before presenting it here to you.

My Father passed away on Octber 16th, following almost 6 months of a difficult and lingering death, during which time (more…)

“Worrying about something that may never happen is like paying interest on money you may never borrow. “

Let’s continue where we left off in Part I following my dream…

The above quote is very apt for what we are discussing now as it brings home the absurdity of worrying! But we are human, and worrying is something we are very adept at, and do often. So how do we train ourselves not to worry? By training! By practicing…and by understanding where worry comes from and why it is just simply an energy draining, non-productive, past- time.

Not worrying implies FAITH. Implicit Faith in the Universe to always supply us with all we need without understanding the means by which this is done. It is simply beyond our human comprehension.

Faith…it is like a plant. . . it must be  nurtured and cared for or it will whither and die. We can nurture our Faith by talking with God, but talking WITH does not mean monologue. It is not enough just to talk to God…we must listen as well. Be aware…or we will not hear what the other side is saying, as with any conversation, it must be a dialogue.

TALK to God (Universe, Source) every day. I make it a habit to do this morning and night and in between very frequently. Not just asking for things, but “seeing” and “hearing” and being aware when they happen in answer to our requests. Thank you for the parking space, the short line at the supermarket, an answer in only 5 minutes when calling technical support. these things are all orchestrated for us but we need to be aware of this and acknowledge our awareness….our “hearing” the other side.

Once we send our request out, things are set in motion by our Partner, our co-creator. Nothing “just happens”. And once we cultivate this living, working system, and truly believe in it, there really is NO NEED TO WORRY.

Here another quote which I also like to use when trying to explain the futility of worrying to my clients and the need for manifesting solutions, rather than worrying about “what is going to happen?…what if I can’t?…what if it doesn’t?”…etc.

“If you take your eyes off your goals, all you see are obstacles.”

This helps us to see that we must look beyond what we perceive as obstacles and focus continually on our goals, visualize them in detail, often, not only when praying or meditating, but throughout the day. To believe they will be manifested, but in ways we, as human beings, with our limited senses and understandings could never contemplate.

Not worrying implies FAITH.

Faith in God, however it is (more…)

Let Go and Let God

Following the previous posts which hopefully gave you further insights into the Reiki Principle “Just For Today-I Will Not Worry”…I am including the following from a Kryon Channeling. If you choose to read it, you will be taken further along into the idea of Trust in the Universe…the ideas presented are not unique in any way, but the parable of the Missing Bridge is one of my favorite examples for understanding the concept of “Letting Go and Letting God”. If you want to delve further into the channelings of Kryon and get further information, you can check out the Kryon Also note that the word “Spirit” is used frequently in these channelings, but God, Universe, Higher Source etc., could all be used just as easily…do not let semantics confuse you.

The first (thing to understand about trusting the Universe) is this: (more…)
